This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Papunya Tula Artists, Alice Springs which states: ‘The roundels in this painting depict the rockholes at Wirrulnga, a site in a small rocky outcrop, east of the Kiwirrkurra Community. The sinuous lines in the centre represent the rocky hills with a creek running through the middle. A number of women camped here before continuing their travels east. Wirrulnga is associated with birth. A woman of the Napaltjarri kinship subsection gave birth at the site. The arcs are the sandhills surrounding the area.’
