This painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Warlayirti Artists, which states: 'Purkitji is the Tjaru name for Sturt Creek, north of Balgo. This is important country for Boxer, and the central, double cross design depicts the main channels of Purkitji. The smaller hook shapes are the many, small tributaries that run into Purkitji.'
