Catalogue text

This painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Warmun Art Centre which states: 'Bulnginy is the Gija name of this place. It is the Dreaming place of the plains kangaroo (Jarlangarnany). One day he was chased by a hunter. The kangaroo ran from Bulnginy Creek up to the top of the hill and turned into a big rock to escape from being speared. You can still see that kangaroo there today.'
