Catalogue text

This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Warlayirti Artists which states: 'This painting depicts some of Lucy's traditional country, located far to the south of Balgo. This country is located in the Great Sandy Desert, and is known as Kanana, after the tjurrnu, or soak water featured in the centre of the painting. This is the country of Lucy's mother and grandmother, where she lived and hunted as a young woman. The majority of the painting depicts the tjilji, or sand dunes, which dominate the landscape of the area.'
