Catalogue text

This painting is accompanied by the original Stuart Art Center label with annotated diagram regarding its subject, the Wallaby Story. During July of 1971 and August of 1972, 22 consignments of paintings were sent from Geoffrey Bardon at Papunya to the Stuart Art Center in Alice Springs. This particular board was part of consignment 19 to the centre. Whilst the paintings themselves were all undated, the extensive information regarding the consignments allows us to assign a 1972 date to this painting.
