Catalogue text

This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Papunya Tula Artists which reads in part: 'This painting depicts designs associated with the travels of a group of Tingari Women from the rockhole and soakage water site of Marrapinti, west of the Kiwirrkura Community. The women, of the Nakamarra, Nampitjinpa and Napangati kinship subsections, had been performing the dances associated with the area. They travelled east stopping at Ngaminya and the rockhole site of Wirrulnga, east of the Kiwirrkura Community, before continuing their travels... to Umari, east of Mt. Webb'.
